Type of Employment: Full time – Permanent

Job Duties:

– Fit and assemble prefabricated metal parts to build heavy industrial machinery

– Move and align subassemblies and components

– Read and interpret blueprints

– Install major components such as gears, pumps, motors, or hydraulic assemblies

– Inspect machinery and fixture subassemblies and finished products for conformance to quality standards

– Perform preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment under standardized procedures

– Work with advanced manufacturing equipment such as conveyors, overhead and transfer systems, robotic systems, and presses.

– Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment

– Troubleshoot, replace and/or repair machine components including cylinders, pumps, motors, spindles, fixtures, slides, valves, gears, switches, and bearings

– Perform welding, metal fabricating, hand finishing, grinding, and polishing

– Design and test hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment and systems

– May drive a forklift if needed.

 

Requirements:

– Education: Completion of high school is required

– Experience: at least 3 years of experience in the field is required. If the candidate does not have 3 years of experience, then the completion of a mechanical apprenticeship program, such as millwrighting, machining, pipefitting, automotive service or heavy equipment repair OR completion of a four-year machine fitter apprenticeship program is required

– Equipment and machinery experience: Construction machinery, Gears, Hydraulic components, Pumps, Electrical wiring devices, Heavy machinery manufacturing, Overhead crane.

– Experience with PLC, Ladder Logic, and VFD is a strong asset

– Driver’s license is a strong asset

– Work conditions and Physical capabilities: Physically demanding, Handling heavy loads, Standing for extended periods, Attention to detail, Fast-paced environment

– Personal suitability: Reliability, Team player, Efficient interpersonal skills, Flexibility, Dependability, Initiative

– Weight handling:  Up to 23kg (50 lbs)

– Work site environment: Noisy, Dusty, Hot

– Language: English is required.

Salary: $36.00 hourly, 48 hours per week

Important Information: Work schedule is 4 days a week, on a rotational basis. Workers must work 12 hours shifts, from 5:30 pm to 5:30 am. Flexibility on schedule is required. Overtime is required. Work on weekends and holidays may be required.
