REPORTING TO:  Adult Day Program Manager

JOB SUMMARY:  This position is responsible for assisting in the delivery of the Program in a manner that is responsive to client needs.

DUTIES:

  • Assist in program activities in collaboration with participants, other staff, volunteers and students.
  • Provide assistance to participants as required with ADP’s such as feeding, dressing, toileting, personal care and other needs that may arise.
  • Purchase food and meal preparation
  • Set up, clean up, wash dishes and counter tops in kitchen
  • General cleaning of program areas as required
  • Participate in staff and unit meetings
  • Maintain accurate petty cash receipts and packing slips from suppliers
  • Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to TNG’s policies and procedures
  • Other tasks as required

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
  • Familiarity and awareness in implementing anti-racial and non-discriminatory practices
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working with older adults and/or persons with cognitive and/or physical disability
  • Personal Support Worker Certificate an asset
