Job Description:<\/p>\n

Conduct feasibility, design operation and performance research of electrical generation and distribution networks<\/p>\n
Supervise technicians, technologists, programmers, analysts and other engineers<\/p>\n
Prepare material cost and timing estimates, reports and design specifications<\/p>\n
Design electrical and electronic components, systems and equipment<\/p>\n
Supervise and inspect the installation and operation of electrical and electronic systems and equipment<\/p>\n
Develop maintenance and operating standards for electrical and electronic systems and equipment<\/p>\n
Investigate electrical or electronic failures<\/p>\n
Set up and operate specialized and standard test equipment to diagnose, test and analyze the performance of electrical and electronic components, assemblies and systems<\/p>\n
Design, develop, and validate complex multi-layer PCBs for RF and mixed-signal applications using Altium Designer<\/p>\n
Architect and implement hardware solutions using Texas Instruments CC1110, CC1310, STM32, and ATTiny microcontrollers<\/p>\n
Design and optimize ISM-band and 802.11 wireless circuits, including antenna matching, filtering, and RF front-end design<\/p>\n
Develop power switching and LED driver circuits for a variety of product applications<\/p>\n
Source and qualify electronic components, including managing relationships with foreign parts suppliers<\/p>\n
Prototype, solder, and rework surface-mount and through-hole assemblies (fine-pitch QFN, BGA, 0201 passives)<\/p>\n
Operate and maintain pick-and-place production lines for low-to-medium volume manufacturing runs<\/p>\n
Debug and troubleshoot electronic assemblies using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and other bench equipment<\/p>\n
Write clear and thorough technical documentation, including design specifications, test procedures, assembly manuals, and user guides<\/p>\n
Provide hands-on hardware support to firmware development teams, including creating debug fixtures and test interfaces<\/p>\n
Conduct design reviews, perform schematic and layout peer reviews, and ensure designs meet EMC\/regulatory requirements<\/p>\n

Requirements:<\/p>\n

Education:\u00a0A bachelor\u2019s degree in electrical or electronic engineering or in an appropriate related engineering discipline is required<\/p>\n
Experience:\u00a0At least 5 years of experience in electronics hardware design and development are required.<\/p>\n
Licensing by a provincial or territorial association of professional engineers is required<\/p>\n
Knowledge and experience at hand soldering and rework of surface-mount components, including fine-pitch packages, is required<\/p>\n
Experience operating and programming pick-and-place assembly lines is required<\/p>\n
Proven ability to debug and diagnose hardware issues at the board and system level is required<\/p>\n
Experience designing complex, multi-layer PCBs with controlled impedance, high-speed signals and RF considerations is required<\/p>\n
Experience with power switching circuit design (MOSFETs, gate drivers, DC-DC converters is required<\/p>\n
Experience with LED driver circuit design is required<\/p>\n
Demonstrated experience sourcing parts from international suppliers is required<\/p>\n
