Our screening, assessment, and selection\u00a0processes\u00a0remain\u00a0entirely human-led.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Work Schedule:<\/strong> Successful candidates will be expected to accept shifts at both the\u00a0Transitional Home\u00a0and the Youth Centre, including program-specific assignments and general relief coverage, based on operational needs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the Role\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As a\u00a0<strong>Youth Support\u00a0Worker<\/strong>,\u00a0you\u00a0will\u00a0be responsible for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Welcome and support youth in a safe, inclusive, and trauma-informed environment.<\/li>\n<li>Provide front desk, housing, and general program support while maintaining clean, safe, and organized spaces.<\/li>\n<li>Support program delivery, including set-up, take-down, preparing materials and supplies, engaging participants, and assisting with program-related paperwork.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate access to basic needs and connect youth with appropriate internal and external resources.<\/li>\n<li>Provide administrative support, including documentation, photocopying, scanning, and recordkeeping.<\/li>\n<li>Respond to immediate needs and provide crisis intervention using trauma-informed de-escalation techniques.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain accurate documentation, including shift notes, incidents, safety plans, and communicating effectively during staff handovers.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure continuity of care, access to essential services, and a safe, supportive environment during evening, overnight weekend, public holiday, and other assigned shifts.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to frequently lift and carry objects and equipment weighing up to 40 lbs.<\/li>\n<li>Perform\u00a0other\u00a0related duties as\u00a0required\u00a0to\u00a0support\u00a0evolving operational needs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Credentials\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Post-secondary education in social services (or equivalent experience).<\/li>\n<li>Experience working with youth and\/or in mental health, addictions, or residential settings.<\/li>\n<li>Current CPR\/First-Aid training is required (or to be obtained upon being hired).<\/li>\n<li>Training in CPI, ASIST, and\/or UMAB is an asset.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Why Work with Us?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A welcoming, inclusive environment where your voice matters.<\/li>\n<li>The opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of 2SLGBTQIA+ youth.<\/li>\n<li>Growth opportunities in a mission-driven organization.<\/li>\n<li>Engage in work that is challenging, meaningful, and aligned with your values.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What We Need\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Legal eligibility to work in Canada.<\/li>\n<li>Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check clearance.<\/li>\n<li>Reside in Ontario.<\/li>\n<li>Must be available to\u00a0work\u00a0a flexible schedule, including weekdays, evenings, weekends, overnights, and holidays as\u00a0required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Important Note\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you have accessed Friends of Ruby services in the past year, we kindly ask that you refrain from applying for this position.\u00a0This policy helps to ensure objectivity and\u00a0avoid\u00a0potential conflicts of interest.\u00a0We prioritize equal opportunity for all applicants and aim to\u00a0maintain\u00a0the integrity of our organization.
