{"id":10923,"date":"2026-05-13T12:46:55","date_gmt":"2026-05-13T12:46:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobhouse.ca\/jobboards\/?post_type=job_listing&#038;p=10923"},"modified":"2026-05-14T19:33:48","modified_gmt":"2026-05-14T19:33:48","slug":"community-resource-food-security-assistant-east-york","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobhouse.ca\/jobboards\/job\/community-resource-food-security-assistant-east-york\/","title":{"rendered":"Canada Summer Jobs &#8211; Community Resource Food Security Assistant (East York)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>DUTIES:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist the Community Development Coordinator to engage people and to navigate supports<\/li>\n<li>Conduct outreach to isolated communities, engage communities to learn about health and wellness practices and to determine target populations and assist with supports<\/li>\n<li>Attend trainings, learning exchange activities and clinics<\/li>\n<li>Assist the Community Program Worker to facilitate food security in the coordination, delivery and implementation of the food bank, drop in and community dinner<\/li>\n<li>Assist the Community Program Worker in the development of meal plans, shopping for, preparation, and distributing the bi-weekly community dinner and drop-in<\/li>\n<li>Assist the Community Program Worker and a diverse team of volunteers to help facilitate the Food Bank program assisting clients to overcome barriers, access to food and connect with other resources<\/li>\n<li>Clean, organize and sanitize all food and meal spaces before volunteers, community and other staff arrive, frequently over the day and at the end of programming<\/li>\n<li>Connect and follow up with participants and volunteers as needed to ensure that they are accessing adequate supports and resources<\/li>\n<li>Assist with collection of statistics and any other documentation as required<\/li>\n<li>Maintain client confidentiality and adhering to the Agency&#8217;s policies and procedures<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work primarily in person to assist with the delivery of program, workshops and conduct outreach<\/li>\n<li>Occasionally work from home and to assist with administration tasks or attend meetings virtually<\/li>\n<li>Perform other duties appropriate to the position<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In order to apply for this position, you\u00a0<strong>must<\/strong>\u00a0be 15 to 30 years of age.
