Job Description:<\/p>\n
Develop and guide the behaviour of farm animals<\/p>\n
Develop specific plans to prioritize<\/p>\n
Diagnose livestock health issues<\/p>\n
Disinfect pens and barns<\/p>\n
Handling animals<\/p>\n
Marking livestock as proof of ownership<\/p>\n
Monitoring animal health<\/p>\n
Organize daily tasks to accomplish the work<\/p>\n
Perform livestock feeding<\/p>\n
Prepare a clean and dry area for cows<\/p>\n
Track and report on current feed inventory<\/p>\n
Treat livestock health issues<\/p>\n
Feed and tend animals<\/p>\n
Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures<\/p>\n
Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment<\/p>\n
Provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, or harvesting, as needed to feed the cattle<\/p>\n
Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed while performing daily tasks<\/p>\n
Clean barns, barnyards and pens<\/p>\n
Perform general farm duties<\/p>\n
Write daily basic progress reports<\/p>\n
Occasionally drive a tractor within the farm<\/p>\n

Requirements<\/p>\n
Education:\u00a0Not required.<\/p>\n
Experience:\u00a0At least one year of experience is required. On-the-job training will be provided.<\/p>\n
Work site environment:\u00a0Beef cattle ranching and farming including feedlots, Outdoors, Dusty, Noisy, Odours, All weather conditions.<\/p>\n
Weight handling:\u00a0Maximum 25 lbs.<\/p>\n
Driver\u2019s license is an asset<\/p>\n
Work setting:\u00a0Rural area<\/p>\n
Equipment experience: Skid steer loader\/tractor is an asset. General mechanical skills are an asset.<\/p>\n
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Physically demanding, Repetitive tasks, Handling heavy loads, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Large workload, Hand-eye co-ordination, Ability to distinguish between colours, Sound discrimination, Standing for extended periods, Bending, crouching, kneeling.<\/p>\n

Salary:\u00a0$20.00 per hour. 40 to 50 hours per week.<\/p>\n

Important Information:<\/p>\n
Flexibility in the schedule is required. The work schedule consists of a 6-day workweek, with a half-day on Saturday, and alternating weekends off and on. Working hours are from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Saturday shifts are from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Workers will need to work on holidays. Overtime and being on call may be required depending on business needs.<\/p>\n
