Job Description:<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Check products and packaging for defects and to ensure conformance to company standards and perform corrective machine adjustments as required<\/p>\n
Set up and operate machines to bag, box or otherwise package fish and seafood products<\/p>\n
Set up and operate machines to clean, cut or otherwise process fish or seafood products<\/p>\n
Operate cutting machine ensuring the correct orientation while maintaining a minimum speed of 80+ plus fish per minute<\/p>\n
Communicate with the cutter machine leader to ensure product throughput and quality standards are being met, including maintenance issues with machine or machine breakdowns<\/p>\n
Inspect smelt \u2013 remove defects (shiners, shad, burst bellies, broken pieces, mixed species, ice, VHS, freezer burn, discoloration, foreign materials, etc.)<\/p>\n
Operate case maker machine maintaining minimum line speeds of 300 case per hour<\/p>\n
Operate vertical form filling machine meeting required minimums of 40+ bags per minute<\/p>\n
Weigh cases and add \/ remove product as required to ensure accurate net weights<\/p>\n
Palletize 5 kg boxes. 150 cases per skid and be able to pile these approximately 6 feet high. (if needed)<\/p>\n
Ensure net weights, labeling, and packaging of products are clean and within customer specifications<\/p>\n
Stop the line and notify the leader, if the disposition of product changes and operators encounter changes in sizes, quality, etc.<\/p>\n
Clean work areas and equipment, tools, bins, etc.<\/p>\n
Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) procedures while performing job duties and tasks<\/p>\n

Requirements:<\/p>\n

Education:\u00a0Completion of high school is required.<\/p>\n
Experience:\u00a0Experience is an asset. Training will be provided.<\/p>\n
Follow all Hygiene requirements and Health and Safety protocols.<\/p>\n
Previous experience in food production and processing including fish processing is a strong asset.<\/p>\n

Salary:\u00a0$21.14 per hour plus $0.75 \u2013 $1.00 for shift premium once a union member, 40 \u2013 60 hours per week.<\/p>\n

Important information:\u00a0Flexibility in schedule is required. The working hours for the day shift are: 7:00 AM \u2013 3:00 PM, for the afternoon shift are 3:00 PM \u2013 11:00 PM, and for the night shift are 11:00 PM \u2013 7:00 AM. Weekend work may be required based on the business\u2019 needs. We guarantee at least 40 working hours per week during the winter.<\/p>\n
