Job Description:<\/p>\n
Diagnose diseases or abnormal conditions in individual animals, herds and flocks through physical examinations or laboratory tests
\nTreat sick or injured animals by prescribing medication, setting bones, dressing wounds or performing surgery
\nVaccinate animals to prevent and treat diseases
\nAdvise clients on feeding, housing, behavior, breeding, hygiene and general care of animals
\nPerform routine, emergency and post-mortem examinations
\nProvide a range of veterinary services including obstetrics, dentistry and euthanasia
\nSupervise animal health technologist and animal care workers
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Maintaining accurate medical records and communicating with pet owners about diagnosis and care.<\/p>\n

Requirements:<\/p>\n
Education:\u00a0Two years of pre-veterinary university studies or completion of a college program in health science and a four to five year university degree in veterinary medicine and successful completion of an examination leading to a national certification are required.<\/p>\n
Experience:\u00a0A minimum of 1 year of experience as a veterinarian is required.
\nSuccessful completion of BCSE and NAVLE exams, if applicable.<\/p>\n
A provincial licensure is required.<\/p>\n
Computer and technology knowledge:\u00a0Must be familiar with online browsers and MS Office. Training on the Practice management software will be provided.<\/p>\n

Important Information:\u00a0Flexibility on schedule is required. The selected candidate will work 5 days per week on a rotational basis. This will include day, evening, and overnight shifts. Work on Weekends and on holidays is required. Overtime may be required depending on the business needs. Regular shifts go from 8 am to 4 pm, 11 am to 7 pm, 2 pm to 10 pm and 7 pm to 8 am.<\/p>\n
