Job Description:
Hand harvesting vegetables
Monitoring animal health
Plant, cultivate and irrigate crops
Stone and/or wood picking
Fertilize and spray crops
Feed and tend animals
Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
Clean stables, barns, barnyards and pens
Write daily basic progress reports
Requirements:
– Education: Not required
– Experience: Due to the type of business, a minimum 7 months of experience is required; on-the-job training will be provided.
– Driver’s license is an asset
– Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Repetitive tasks, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Standing for extended periods.
– Personal suitability: Organized, Efficient interpersonal skills, Flexibility, Team player, Initiative, Accurate, Judgement.
– Weight Handling: More than 45 kg (100 lbs)
– Work Site Environment: Outdoors, Odours, Wet/damp, Dusty, Hot
– Language: English is required
Salary: $18.44 Hourly, 40 – 44 hours per week.
Benefits: Tools provided by employer. Accommodation provided at a discounted rate. Transportation costs covered if worker needs to relocate. Transportation to and from the work location provided. Vehicle provided after 6 months of employment
Important Information: Flexibility in schedule is required. Regular schedule is Monday to Friday, from 09:00 am to 05:00 pm. Work on weekends may be required depending on the business needs.
