Overview
In-Home Caregiver/Nanny needed for one newborn baby. $14.00-$17.00 per hour for a 40 hr work week, salary depends on experience. Job hours 7:45am-5:15pm. Overtime may be required from 45-48 hrs and paid at 1.5 x per hour. Two days off per week on Sat/Sun. One year of relevant professional baby care experience required. Minimum of equivalent Canadian High School diploma required. Must be flexible. Job located in Leslieville (Queen & Pape). English language spoken and written, required. Work to take place in employers home.
Skills required–Supervise & care for baby in employer’s residence; bathe, dress & feed baby, change diapers, prepare bottles; light housekeeping for baby such as tidying up, laundry etc; oversee baby’s activities, such as meals & rest periods, as instructed; maintain a safe & healthy environment in the home; instruct baby in personal and oral hygiene; tend to the emotional well-being of baby & support social development; discipline child according to the methods requested; organize & participate in activities such as games, crafts, reading & outings.
Good communication and decision making skills are essential.
