Overview
Corkin Gallery, located at Distillery District, 7 Tank House Lane, Toronto, Canada M5A 3C4, is hiring a full-time Art Gallery Manager. Annual salary is $85,000 for a 30-hour work week.
Duties include the following:
- Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the activities of the Corkin Gallery
- Develop and administer gallery internship programs with various schools (Ryerson, Uof. etc.) and develop internship programs with technical schools
- Prepare and administer budgets pertaining to artists and exhibitions
- Develop, promote and implement relations with key stakeholders (private collectors, institutional collectors (banks, insurance companies), museum staff, and writers, in collaboration with the director of the gallery
- Prepare funding and grant applications and proposals for all gallery programs
- Recruit and provide training for all technical and clerical staff
The following is required:
- Experience with Adobe Suite, especially InDesign and Photoshop, and Microsoft Office is required
- Experience with art fairs and arts administration is mandatory
- Experience with inventory databases and websites, such as Art Logic, is required
- Available for weekend work
Language of work: English. Must have a graduate degree in cultural or fine arts, museum studies, art history, or history or a training program in arts administration. Minimum 5 years of experience as a curator or in other related art gallery work at a supervisory level is required. Submit resumes and cover letter to admin@corkingallery.com
