Overview

Cruz Masonry Ltd. is a bricklaying contractor now hiring:

BRICKLAYERS

For Permanent, Full-time work (35 to 44 hours per week).

Salary: $44.32 to $47.00 / hour (To be negotiated)

Start date: As soon as possible

Requirements of the job:

Languages: English

Education: No degree, certificate or diploma

Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years

Own Tools/Equipment:

Tools, Safety equipment/gear, Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat, Gloves

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Handling heavy loads, Standing for extended periods, Bending, crouching, kneeling

Personal Suitability: Accurate, Reliability, Team player, Effective interpersonal skills, Client focus

Additional Skills: Estimate materials, labour, tools and equipment, Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, Restore, clean or paint existing masonry structures

Duties of the job:

• Prepare and lay bricks, concrete blocks, structural tiles or other masonry units
• Lay bricks, stone or similar materials to provide veneer facing
• Construct and install prefabricated masonry units
• Build patios, garden walls and other decorative installations
• Read sketches and blueprints to calculate materials required
• Cut and trim bricks and concrete blocks to specification using hand and power tools
• Lay bricks or other masonry units to build residential or commercial chimneys and fireplaces
• Measuring the work area and setting out the first rows of bricks (courses) and the damp course
• Mixing mortar by hand or with a mechanical mixer
• May assist in erecting scaffolding
