Overview

Description:

· Wage $15 hours per/hour, no deductions will be taken

· Two – six hour shifts per week (Mon-Thurs or Tues- Fri or as needed) for a total of 12-15 hours per week

Other info:

· Must wear gloves, mask and safety vest at all times, cleaning equipment is provided by BIA;

· 442 Bloor St. W Rear Garage is where the tools are stored and valuables may be left while on duty

· Clipboard is available with a basic time sheet to record hours in/out

Responsibilities

· Sweep and pick up debris in the area of Bloor Street from Madison Ave to Bathurst

· Empty debris/garbage collected into bins in parks just North of Bloor at Madison, Albany and Dalton Streets

· Pick up large trash on streets in designated area

· Also look out for garbage in BIA parkettes at Robert, Major, Brunswick and Howland

Other instructions:

· Incumbent must have use of cell phone for emergency contact and to call supervisor regarding illness, lateness or absenteeism

· Don’t leave equipment outside or if taking a coffee break- keep it with you

Qualifications/ Qualities:

· Person must be willing to do light to medium physical work; example sweeping, bending, crouching, lifting up to 30 lbs

· Person must be open to working on and around public spaces and sidewalks where social distancing is a challenge and ongoing consideration

· Person must be able to manage their own time with limited supervision

· Person must be reliable and trustworthy and able to complete tasks assigned and be honourable and accountable to the work

Other information:

· Employer will provide extra Personal Protective Gear as needed/requested

· Employer wants me to reiterate that this is a temp position for the main worker who is on leave due to his age/if the health ban is lifted and things go back to normal, the person will be laid off

· This employer is not interested in a wage subsidy (but has done job trials with ES before) and would prefer to hire someone based on our recommendation/referral, upon completion of a successful interview/Zoom meeting
