Job duties

Manage accounts payable, including vendor setup, invoice processing, payment preparation, and remittance tracking

Manage accounts receivable, including customer invoicing, collections, and payment application

Perform bank and credit card reconciliations on a regular basis

Maintain the general ledger, including accurate posting and review of transactions

Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and adjustments

Prepare and review the trial balance and investigate discrepancies

Complete year-end adjustments and support year-end close activities

Calculate, record, and maintain fixed assets and depreciation schedules

Prepare and process payroll cheques, including payroll calculations and deductions

Prepare internal financial statements and supporting schedules

Prepare statistical and management reports as required

Prepare and file tax returns (e.g., sales tax, payroll, corporate support schedules as applicable)

Maintain accurate and organized financial records using manual and computerized accounting systems

Communicate financial results to management, providing accurate and timely information for decision-making

 

 

Requirements:

 

Education: To qualify for the job, completion of a college program of at least two years in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field is required. However, a Bachelor’s degree in business, specifically in Accounting, Finance, or Administration, is preferred.

Master’s degree in business or a related discipline is an asset.

Experience: At least 2 year of experience in finance and accounting responsibilities is required.

Strong organizational and multitasking skills are required

 

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work independently, Attention to detail, Fast-paced environment, Repetitive tasks, Tight deadlines, work under pressure, ability and

willingness to travel and work on assigned duties within the underserved communities in Toronto.

Language: English is required

 

Computer and Technology Knowledge:

– Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint), Excel data analysis skills are required.

– Hands-on experience with accounting software and financial management tools is a strong asset (D365, QuickBooks, SAP).

Salary: $36.00 hourly, 35 hours per week

Important information: The regular schedule will be from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM from Monday to Friday. There may be instances of out-of-office field assignments.
