Built-Up Flat Roofers (NOC 73110)

Permanent, Full-time employment (between 32 and 44 hours per week).

Requirements:

• Minimum four (4) years of experience as a commercial and/or industrial flat roofer
• Ability to perform duties described below independently
• Valid safety certifications such as WHMIS, Propane in Construction, Rooftop Safety, Fall Protection are assets; training can be provided
• Weekend availability is an asset
• Willingness to work in varying weather conditions (cold, heat, etc.)
• Ability to work in physically demanding job in a fast-paced environment

Duties:

• Install, repair and replace conventional and inverted built-up flat roofing systems using materials such as asphalt-saturated felts and hot asphalt and gravel
• Install, repair and replace modified bitumen roofing systems, single-ply sheet membrane systems such elastomeric or other asphaltic compositions
• Install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools
• Install sheet metal flashings
• Apply waterproof coatings to concrete and other masonry surfaces below and above ground level
• Operate and use overhead hoists, asphalt kettles, conveyor belts, hand and power tools
• Provide training and guidance to labourers and roofer trainees
• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements

Wages and Benefits:
Between $45 and $50 per hour, depending on experience, plus 10% vacation pay.

Work Location: Various job sites throughout southwestern Ontario
