Digital Marketing Coordinator (Remote – Summer Student)

The Opportunity:
First Work is looking for an individual to take on the role of the Digital Marketing Coordinator. The
individual will be responsible for supporting the execution of marketing campaigns, content creation
and website management while ensuring brand consistency.
The successful applicant will demonstrate sound judgment, be flexible and willing to learn and adapt
to different work assignments in a team setting.
Eligibility: This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program. To qualify, applicants
must be:

• Between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment.
• Legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Either a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person with refugee protection under the
Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Please note: International students are not eligible
for this opportunity.

Tasks and Responsibilities
1. Digital Marketing and Administration
• Assist in creating and executing marketing campaigns
• Maintain and manage marketing systems, digital databases, and asset libraries to
support campaign execution and troubleshooting.
• Conduct keyword research, audience targeting, and monitoring analytics to identify
trends and optimize performance.
• Maintain organized marketing documentation, processes, and follow up on key actions
from meetings.
• Act as a liaison between different teams, departments, and external partners.
• Ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

2. Website and Portals Support
• Assist in building and maintaining website and portal content.
• Create and optimize content while auditing for outdated information and ensuring
usability.
• Perform basic SEO tasks including keyword research, meta descriptions, alt text, and
internal linking.
• Monitor website analytics for traffic and engagement trends; report broken links or
technical issues.

3. Email Marketing
• Draft, format, and schedule email campaigns.
• Assist in setting up workflows and automated emails.
• Manage subscriber lists and segment audiences.
• Track email performance metrics and ensure branding consistency.

4. Content Creation and Design
• Draft, edit, and publish content for social media, website, newsletters, and blogs.
• Assist with writing and editing marketing materials including captions, blog posts,
newsletters.
• Support development of marketing assets including graphics, videos, and other digital
content.
• Ensure all content aligns with brand voice, messaging guidelines, and accessibility
standards.

5. Analytics and Reporting
• Contribute to performance analysis and recommendations for optimization.
• Collect and organize data from social media, website, and email campaigns.
• Track ad performance and compile internal and external reports for stakeholders.
• Prepare dashboards, status updates and presentations summarizing campaign results
and insights.
• Support troubleshooting by reporting broken links or technical issues and ensuring
accurate data documentation.

We want to hear from you if you have:
• Personal or professional experience is preferred (co-op, projects, volunteer, etc).
• Experience in writing, editing, and publishing written and visual content.
• Have excellent customer services skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Have strong organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task, in a fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint),
Zoom, Canva, Mailchimp, WordPress and Adobe are considered assets.

Hours of Work: 35 Hours per week
Hourly Wage: $17.60
