Job Description:
Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents
Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
Shop for food and household supplies
Travel with family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties
Wash, iron and press clothing and household linens
Bathe, dress and feed child
Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents
Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development
Keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children
Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
Organize, activities such as games and outings for children
Prepare and serve nutritious meals
Prepare children for rest periods
Take child to and from school and to appointments
Supervise and care for children
Tend to emotional well-being of children
Help a child with homework
Requirements:
-Education: Completion of secondary school
-Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience as child care provider or caregiver is required
-CPR certificate is an asset
-First aid certificate is required
-Experience working with kids with disabilities is a strong asset
Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding, Work under pressure, Attention to detail
Personal Suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills, Excellent oral communication, Flexibility, Judgement, Reliability
Language: English is required.
Children’s Ages: 7, 13 years old.
Work setting:
Private home – Employer’s home
Salary: $20.85 per hour, 45 hours per week
Benefits: Extended Medical Insurance, disability insurance, pension, mobile phone allowance and an annual bonus based on performance
Important information: Work schedule is Monday to Friday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM. Position requires extended work hours and flexibility in scheduling; including evening or weekend hours as needed.
