Heavy duty Equipment Mechanic

Overview

EMPLOYER: Eileen Roofing Inc., 1825 Wilson Avenue, North York, ON M9M 1A2

REQUIREMENTS:

• At least three years of experience as a heavy-duty equipment mechanic
• Ability to perform duties of the job independently
• Able to lift/handle 50 lbs.
• WHMIS certificate (but training available)

WAGES AND BENEFITS:

$36 per hour

Plus health benefits (Dental plan, Disability benefits, Health care plan, Vision care benefits)

HOURS OF WORK:

full-time position, between 32 to 44 hours per week

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
• Order parts and maintain inventory
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
• Keep maintenance reports and documentation
• Welding experience
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers’ specifications
• Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work
• Perform repair work on heavy trucks
• Service attachments and working tools
• Verify and repair emission control systems

Diesel Engine Repair Specialization

Major internal engine repairs or overhaul; Installation and alignment of engines and machinery; Air conditioning system; Fuel injection system; Engine control system; Lubrication system; Cooling system; Exhaust system

Mechanical Maintenance

Highway vehicle tires and wheels; Brake system

Powered Equipment Repair Specialization

Pumps; Industrial lift trucks and fork-lifts; Hydraulic-operated working attachments
